I just picked up a copy of Rider, Feb 2001 issue. On page 63 is a paragraph describing the Savage in an article that is touted as a brief history of four-stroke, single-cylinder motorcycles. And on page 81 in a retrospective on the Honda FT500 Ascot, the Savage is again mentioned, but called "too cruiserish".
I guess getting mentioned is all we can expect, I really doubt that any magazine will ever admit that we have one of the few if not the only fun rides, 650cc or larger, available new with warranty for under $4500.
And at least it's not too "crotchrocketish"!
